More Information

Through this work, I have attempted to tell a story. It is about a first-year Juilliard student attending a New York Philharmonic concert for the first time and almost being late because he forgets his ticket at the student residence. The final section is quite introspective, reflecting the student’s thoughts about being thousands of miles away from home and reminiscing about his family and the celebration of Hanukkah. This is why there are two references in the titles: “The Last Flame of Hanukkah” and “The Miracle of the Menorah.”
