Description
Diamond Hands is a piece for solo trumpet (in B-flat), tenor or bass trombone, and brass ensemble (originally for symphony orchestra). The piece was commissioned and dedicated to Miroslav Petkov (principal trumpet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Martin Schippers (tenor and bass trombone of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), and the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia.

This composition is inspired by blockchain technology and the emerging space race, whose ultimate goal is to make humans an interplanetary species. The piece was premiered by Miroslav Petkov (principal trumpet of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Martin Schippers (tenor and bass trombone of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), and the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia during the closing concert of the Numskull Brass Festival Caudete 2021.
